Technical information • Floodwaters damage school desks as well as other furniture. • Designs, shapes and weights of current furniture are not suitable for transport. Schools have few human resources, making it
difficult for them to move all furniture to higher levels in time. • There is no furniture in schools that can be applied and utilized for other purposes during floods. • There is no furniture that can be used to elevate items in schools. • Molds resulting from floods are hazardous to teachers, students and those in schools.
Functions and Use: Furniture that is: • Made of materials that are durable, can withstand water and
humidity and easy to clean. • Lightweight but strong. • Floatable. • Stable even when stacked together. • Can be applied for other purposes; for example, besides serving as desks, they can be connected together to make a floating passageway, can be used as a storage or elevation to keep other items from submerging underwater or can serve other purposes for school activities, such as special events on important occasions or when the school becomes an emergency shelter. • Can be adjusted or moved easily using general toolkits.
