The tookit should be easy to understand and follow. It must indicate the order of growing
8 vegetables in each week and when to harvest for consumption before and during
floods. Use the following information when designing the brief:
1. The 8 vegetables are divided into 4 groups according to the growing and harvesting
period.
Group 1 Chinese cabbage, scallion, coriander
Group 2 Chinese kale, bok choy
Group 3 Water morning glory
Group 4 Basil – can be picked whenever desired
Bean sprout – grows in three days
2. The weekly planting schedule to help plan for vegetable growing for the purpose of
consumption throughout a time of floods
Functions and Use: The sufficient vegetable garden kit recommends types of vegetables and offers a weekly planting schedule. Recommended vegetables are those that need little sunlight, require only soil or water and grow quickly; these include bean sprout, water morning glory, coriander, scallion, Chinese kale, bok choy, basil and Chinese cabbage. These 8 vegetables have short roots (approximately 10 cm) and need only small
space to grow, suitable for a residential area with limited space. They are fast-growing vegetables (3 days to 1.5 months). The weekly schedule with coordinating signs would help users plan their vegetable planting
for consumption purposes throughout the duration of the floods.
