Technical information: There are two main points regarding the water garbage problem:
(1) Higher volume of garbage -During the floods, the waters brought the garbage that would normally be left in an abandoned place to a residential area. In addition, foam take-out containers increased during this period.
(2) Garbage collection -Since garbage trucks could not access the flooded roads, a large amount of garbage were
left inside the residential area. Under this circumstance, the only vehicle that would work was a boat, which government agencies used to collect garbage during flooding. However, the tools used in collecting garbage were not fully developed.
